KMs for Autism
is a 19-day community challenge by ASD Dads and Black Smith Run Club, encouraging everyone to run from December 1–19 to support autistic children across Aotearoa. Nearly half of autistic kids are considered “runners,” and many families who need the Ausim Reconnect QR Code safety service aren’t always able to afford it.
If you’re unsure what the Ausim Reconnect Code is read more here.

By joining the challenge, every kilometre you run helps provide Reconnect memberships, QR Code tags, and safety shirts or hoodies to families who need extra support. All donations go directly to the One11One Trust / ASD Dads (Registered Charity CC62732).
Run with heart. Every step you take truly makes a difference for our autism community.

Empowering Dads, Changing Lives!
How It All Started!
In September 2023, I took a chance and started ASD Dads from my garage in South Auckland.
At the time, my goal was simple: connect with just two or three other dads who were also raising autistic children. I never imagined that what began as a small support group would grow into a global movement—connecting families across Aotearoa, Australia, Japan, and even the U.S.
As a father navigating this journey myself, I know firsthand how isolating and overwhelming it can feel. That’s why ASD Dads exists: to build a village where we can share the load, show up for each other, and make sure no parent ever feels alone in this.
A single video sparked a national movement, with dads from all over the country reaching out, eager to join the community. As a father of an autistic child myself, I understood the struggles and isolation that came with navigating life and finding support. My own journey with my 6-year-old son, Storm, has been a driving force behind ASD Dads.
